Tea Cups Are On My Mind

It must be that time again (Stephanie's Tea Cup Swap--Read all about it here!) because I have been thinking a lot about tea cups. About a week ago, while my middle daughter was visiting for a few days, we stopped by one of my favorite antique shops. We didn't have much time as she had an appointment but it only took me a couple of minutes to snatch up these two sweet little cups. They were only $2.00 each! I have many tea cups with roses on them so I knew both would look nice in my collection.

You may have noticed that pretty little rose tray underneath the cups. One of my friends surprised me with it for Christmas. It's so pretty!

You might be wondering why all of these cups are sitting on my dining room table. Well, I took them out of my hutch to wash, But mostly, I took them all out just to look at them!

The cup in the front (right) has no markings on it so it's a no name tea cup yet it is one of my favorites.

Here's a better photo of it. Isn't it pretty?

Some of these cups are from prior tea cup swaps.

.......which brings me to Stephanie's Tea Cup and Mug Swap! It's her 10th one!!! I am all signed up and really looking forward to receiving the name and address of the next lovely lady that I will be sending a tea cup package to. Let the swap begin.....and many thanks to my friend Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose. She is so kind and generous to arrange all of this for us. I am very grateful! Thank you Stephanie!

  1. Good Morning Linda, I love teacups with saucers. When my mother, Phyllis visits I have a beautiful China teacup which I keep especially for my mum to use, as she only drinks tea from a China teacup. She says tea tastes better and it brightens her day to use a beautiful teacup and saucer.
I have to say your favourite teacup is very special indeed.
    Have a lovely day.
    Best Wishes
    Daphne

  2. That always sounds like so much fun for all you tea cup fans. Makes me wish so much that I had learned to like tea when I was younger. I'm afraid it's coffee cups here but I did purchase 4 tea cups at a thrift store last Saturday simply because they happened to match 4 soup bowls I have. Yours are beautiful, Linda!

    1. Thank you Dewena! I used to be an "all coffee girl" myself. Several years ago I started drinking tea at my mom's when I would visit in the afternoons and then I realized on days that I wasn't visiting, I really missed my tea! So another habit was born! LOL, who says you can't drink coffee from a pretty teacup? LOL!

  6. $2.00 really?!! Wow, what a blessing for you! I have all my beautiful teacups stored away, and I am hoping this summer when we finish our shed and are able to rearrange the storage trailer, that I will be able to get out my teacups, which I haven't seen for almost two years, and enjoy them again. I love the floral teacup you found, it is gorgeous. And oh! I can't wait for the fun to start with the tea exchange either, it is just SOO Much fun! I am still enjoying the teacup you sent me, and the gorgeous bookmark too. What a blessing the exchanges have been! Hugs to you today dear friend!

  7. Hi Linda, Your collection is gorgeous. I love the rose designs here on these beauties. What a great price for the tea cups you found with your daughter. They are so pretty. The tray from your friend is beautiful.
I'm looking forward to the exchange once again too. This time I decided to exchange a mug instead of tea cup. That's different for me but thought I would take a different direction this time. Stephanie is such a wonderful hostess and works so hard to make this special for everyone. She has created a wonderful event that has touched so many.
Thank you for sharing a few of your pretties. Have a great weekend ahead. Blessings xoxo
