Happy New Year 2016!

Happy New Year Friends! I don't know about you but I am so ready for a fresh start!

The first thing I want to do is get organized! Luckily I received some great organizational tools/planners and such to start the organizational process! The lovely planner you see above was a gift from my daughter Jenn, and I am already filling it up with appointments, appointments and more appointments! I do love pretty paper products! (Paper Source--For website link, click here )

It has a matching spiral notebook/journal where I  can jot down my ideas for future blog posts and new handcrafted items for my ETSY shop.

My daughter also gave me a productivity workbook and business planner for 2016  and a one-year editorial planner as well. So there's really no excuse for disorganization now is there? Well.....

.....I ended the year with a series of family emergencies, crises and hospital and rehab stays with my mom. Then just as the new year was about to arrive, it was a speedy ride in an ambulance back to the hospital for a few more nights sleeping in my recliner in the ICU lounge. I've slept so many nights in that chair that I have actually formed an emotional attachment to it. We are friends! Best friends really! I am hoping that I never have the need to use it again but in the event that I do, I know it will be there waiting for me!

The events of the last three months have left me in such a state of utter disorganization that I don't  know where to begin. I feel overwhelmed. Summer clothes are not put away, the Christmas tree is still standing, wrapping paper tubes are all over my dining room, dirty laundry is piling up, and I've only grocery shopped three times since October 23rd, etc......you get the picture.

So my goal for now, at this very early stage of 2016 is to reclaim my home, my life and my sanity. I know it's probably a tall order but I just cannot function amidst all this chaos! Wish me luck!
and......
Happy New Year!

Got hopes, dreams, goals, resolutions, things you just want to get accomplished this year? Tell me all about it in the comment section!

  1. I hope this new year brings you much happiness....and maybe some time at the grocery store. I go about twice a week so I can't imagine how empty your pantry must be. You've had a difficult past few months and I've kept you in my prayers. Sending you lots of hugs my friend, Diane

  2. You have certainly carried a full load these past few months, bless your heart.
It looks like those beautiful organisational books will be a great help, why just the beauty of them would inspire me.
There is something about writing things down that keeps us on track.
I believe you will have your home and life reclaimed real soon. :-)
This year I am going to do some purging throughout the house and rearrange some things so as to make the home fresh and new. I will be painting some walls too. I loath painting...but am looking beyond that to the beauty it will bring.
I just had to stop in and see you, dear friend.
My prayers continue for your mom and yourself.

Have a most blessed rest of the week.
    Love~~ Debbie

  3. Hi Linda, Happy New Year to you my dear friend. I love the great appt. books and planners you received from your daughter. Love the floral pattern. I can so understand feeling overwhelmed as a care giver and all the hospital stays. I went through this with my mother too. It is a difficult time and I continue to pray for you. I hope 2016 will be a better year and you find peace and calm in the days ahead. Wish I could give you a hand, perhaps run to the store etc. The miles are too far off for this, but my heart and prayers are close by!
    Sending hugs your way!! xo

  4. Oh sweet Linda, you have had quite the experience these past months. God bless you for all that you've been through. How wonderful of your daughter to gift you the organizational products. They will be so helpful. Hopefully you've had time to go to the grocery store and restock. I do hope that the recliner in the ICU isn't paid a visit by you for quite awhile. As for goals this year, I'd like some mercy and peace.
    Happy New Year to you!

  5. Oh Linda, life does send us some crazy curves and twists, doesn't it! I do hope that you won't have to use that lounge in the ICU again this year. Will certainly be praying for you that this new year allows you to get back into the normalacy of your life! Having disorganization in your home is certainly tough to get through, and it always feels so good to get back into a routine and organization, and your lovely new organizer, looks like it is perfect for the job ahead of you :) Will be praying for you dear Linda, that the Lord blesses and keeps you through all that you have on your plate!! :)

  7. What great gifts to start the new year with! We can all use a little help organizing our lives!
You know, it's always a challenge when life throws you a curve ball. But in time you will be back to your usual daily (and probably boring) duties and then life will seem closer to normal for you. I really don't think the Christmas tree police nor the summer clothing police will be coming to your home soon to write you up.
Happy and Healthy New Year Linda!

  9. I know how hard it is when life has thrown you so many curve balls, life just gets out of whack and you don't know if you are coming or going. I do hope that you can get caught back up soon and feel a bit more organized once again, and that your mother can get the healing she so needs.

  10. Linda, I'm so sorry that your mother has been ill and hospitalized. These times never come when it's convenient but are especially difficult during the holidays when we want so much just to celebrate as a family. I hope that your mother is much better now. And I do so understand the feeling of being overwhelmed. Fatigue plays a big part in it, don't you think? Or it does for me anyway. And sometimes there are so many things needing our immediate attention that we hardly no where to begin. Every January springs that on me, what with packing away Christmas decor but for me there is always the looming hurdle of beginning work on our family business tax work so that I can get it all to our accountant. And this year my one resolution was to de-clutter in 2016 yet that takes time and it's hard to find extra time in a day.

One step at a time though, and pat myself on the back for small accomplishments!

    Best to you, sweet friend,
    Dewena
