An Angel--Vintage Lace Version

Hello friends! I have not been able to post frequently in the last few weeks, but you all remain in my thoughts and I have read and reread all of your sweet comments. Thank you so much for your love and support!

I wanted to post some photos of an angel that I made a few weeks ago. Her base is paper, lightly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. Her dress and wings are made exclusively from vintage lace that I picked up at a couple of antique shops. I fell in love with her once she was completed and although she sold last week, I have decided to make myself one to hang on my tree.

I love the lace around her neckline!

The lace had aged to just the perfect color.....

Her halo is made from 20 gauge wire, wrapped with ivory twine,

Her gown has some sweet, dainty ruffles.

I love the way she turned out!

The inspiration behind my desire to create an all lace version came from a custom order for an angel with a  "more vintage" look.  I created a more vintage version....

and here she is......then I knew I had to design a version using more vintage lace. After all, I have quite a collection of lace as you know.

She took a lot of time to create.....the first one always does. So much thought went in to the little extra details such as her wrapped halo and the lace around the halo, etc.

Below are some photos of other angel ornaments....couldn't resist photographing them on my lit tree before I trimmed it.

Now, I must focus on decorating my home for Christmas. I am a bit behind but I got my tree up today and I will begin decorating it tomorrow. I even did some online shopping and wrapped the few gifts that I have already purchased.

I am looking forward to Christmas and having a full house! Between now and then, I have much to do! Wish me luck!
