A Time to Plant, a Time to Sow--I mean Sew!

A Time to Plant....

Today we went shopping  (trip 1) for some herbs and some flowers.  We got some of the annuals in, as well as some lambs ear. The herbs will have to wait for tomorrow! (trip 2 will be later this week as I still need parsley, rosemary and a couple other herbs)

Had to have some basil. I LOVE the smell. I kept rubbing the leaves between my fingers so that I could smell it!

Then I found boxwood basil....same smell...but a whole lot less chopping when it is used for cooking! Tiny little leaves....never have seen this variety before!

Mint! Yum! Love this is in drinks, flavoring water and of course for garnishing other culinary creations!

Lavender! I love lavender in everything! I have a lavender soap and hand cream that I slather on just for the aromatherapy!

Baskets of flowers!

Had to have two of these little baskets to hang on the front of our deck!

Love them!

Then we got some other annuals for the front retaining wall area...

Pink Wave petunias....

Purple Wave....

I forgot what these purple flowers husband picked them out! Then he added some lambs ear because we have tons in the back yard....

Looks a little sparse at this point....but I will update once everything fills in...

But it will grow and fill in nicely!

A Time to Sew (not sow)

Sorry a bit blurry....another tulip bag using Janice Pope's pattern from previous post Click here

In my last post (yesterday) I mentioned that I ran out of fabric for the straps. I ended up piecing the fabric together to make the straps the length I wanted. You can barely locate the seam....

I used a regular lining fabric for this bag and a velcro closure.

Love the roomy inside....

.....and nice long straps for a shoulder bag!

Tired but happy! Got a lot done today!
Have a pleasant evening all!
